Ingredients

Pork

  • 4 boneless pork loin chops, about 170–200 g each

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Sweet-savory sauce

  • ½ cup ketchup

  • ¼ cup honey or brown sugar

  • ¼ cup orange juice

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

To thicken

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp cold water

Optional garnish

  • Fresh parsley

  • Orange zest

  • Sliced green onions

Method

1. Season the pork

Pat the pork chops dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

For extra flavor, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chops for 1–2 minutes per side until lightly browned. This step is optional but gives the finished dish a deeper roasted flavor.

2. Make the sauce

Whisk together:

ketchup + honey + orange juice + soy sauce + Worcestershire sauce + garlic + Dijon + smoked paprika + onion powder + black pepper + vinegar.

The sauce should taste sweet, tangy, salty, and slightly smoky.

3. Slow cook

Place the pork chops in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, making sure they’re well coated.

Cover and cook:

  • LOW: 5–6 hours

  • HIGH: 3–4 hours

Avoid significantly overcooking pork chops, as they can become dry.

4. Thicken the sauce

Remove the cooked pork chops and cover loosely with foil.

Mix 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water until smooth. Stir this slurry into the sauce in the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on HIGH for about 10–15 minutes, until the sauce becomes glossy and thick.

5. Finish

Return the pork chops to the sauce and spoon the glaze over them.

Garnish with fresh parsley and a little orange zest. Serve immediately.
