Hamburger steaks with onion gravy

Ingredients:
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/4 cup milk
– 1 egg
– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 onion, sliced
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 2 cups beef broth
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into patties.
2. In a skillet, cook the patties over medium heat until browned on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and butter. Cook until the onions are caramelized.
4. Sprinkle flour over the onions and cook for a minute.
5. Slowly add the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer.
6. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for about 15-20 minutes until the patties are cooked through.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Serve the hamburger steaks with onion gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
