Cooking Method: Slow cooker
Ingredients
1 package (12–14 oz) — beef smokies or cocktail sausages
1½–2 lb (680–900 g) — baby red and yellow potatoes, halved
1 can (14.5 oz / 411 g) — cut green beans, drained
3 tbsp — butter, melted
½ cup — chicken broth or water
1 tsp — garlic powder
1 tsp — onion powder
1 tsp — Italian seasoning
½ tsp — smoked paprika (optional)
¼ tsp — black pepper
To taste — salt, keeping in mind the sausages may be salty
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the potatoes
Wash the baby potatoes and cut them in half. Cut larger potatoes into smaller, evenly sized pieces so they cook uniformly.
Step 2: Add to the slow cooker
Place the potatoes and beef smokies into the slow cooker. Spread them evenly.
Step 3: Add green beans
Drain the canned green beans and add them over the potatoes and sausages.
Step 4: season
Mix the melted butter, broth, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, and black pepper. Pour over everything and gently stir.
Step 5: Cook and serve
Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the potatoes are fork-tender and the dish is steaming hot throughout. Stir gently before serving.

Questions & Answers
Q: Can I use frozen green beans? Yes. Add them directly to the slow cooker; they may soften more than fresh beans.
Q: Can I use chicken broth? Yes. Vegetable broth or water also works.
Q: Can I make it without butter? Yes. Substitute olive oil or reduce the added fat.
Q: How can I make it more flavorful? Add a little Cajun seasoning or red pepper flakes, if desired.
Q: Can I prepare it the night before? You can wash and cut the potatoes and measure the seasonings ahead of time. Refrigerate prepared ingredients separately until cooking time.
Serving suggestion: Serve warm with a fresh green salad, dinner rolls, or cornbread.
