🛒 Ingredients (Makes ~12–15 falafel)

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight, NOT canned)
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley or cilantro
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1–2 tbsp flour (or chickpea flour)
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing or spray)

1. Soak chickpeas

  • Soak dried chickpeas in water for 8–12 hours
  • Drain well (very important)

2. Make mixture

  • Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, and herbs to a food processor
  • Pulse until coarse (not smooth paste)
  • Mix in spices, flour, and baking powder

3. Shape

  • Form small balls or patties

4. Chill (optional but helpful)

  • Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes (helps hold shape)

5. Air fry

  • Preheat to 180°C (350°F)
  • Lightly spray falafel with oil
  • Cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway
  • Until golden and crispy
