Cooking method: Slow cooker
Ingredients
-
1 spiral-sliced fully cooked ham (7–9 pounds)
-
1 can pineapple slices (20 oz), with juice reserved
-
1 cup packed light brown sugar
-
½ cup pure maple syrup
-
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
-
⅛ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ham
Remove the ham from its packaging and discard any included glaze packet if you prefer to make your own. Place the spiral ham cut-side down in a large slow cooker. If needed, gently adjust the slices so the glaze can reach between them.
Step 2: Add the Pineapple
Arrange pineapple slices between the ham slices and around the sides. Pour approximately ½ cup of the reserved pineapple juice into the bottom of the slow cooker.
Step 3: Prepare the Glaze
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Stir until blended.
Step 4: Add the Glaze
Pour the maple syrup over the ham, spreading the brown sugar mixture over the top and between some of the slices. Sprinkle any remaining brown sugar over the ham.
Step 5: Slow Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for approximately 3–5 hours, depending on the size of the ham and your slow cooker. Baste with the juices once or twice during cooking if convenient. Avoid overcooking, as spiral slices can dry out.
Because the ham is already cooked, the goal is to heat it thoroughly without drying it out. For reheating a fully cooked ham, aim for an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C), following the package directions.
Step 6: Make the Glaze Glossy
Carefully transfer the ham to a serving platter. If desired, pour the cooking juices into a saucepan and simmer for several minutes until slightly thickened. Spoon the glaze over the ham and pineapple.
Step 7: Serve
Arrange the pineapple slices around the ham. Drizzle with the warm glaze and serve immediately.

Pro tip: For the best flavor, spoon some of the pineapple-maple juices between the spiral slices before serving so every slice is sweet, moist, and flavorful.
